Comic strips have this surreal innocence. They speak of this different age, an age which I was a part of, but did not notice, and now I miss terribly.

I think that age ended when I slipped out of the newspaper reading habit. But it returned in glorious fashion on the Internet over the last couple of days. I found myself hooked and smiling several times, sometimes laughing out loud.

Favourites include classics like Peanuts and Dilbert and more recently Non Sequitur.

A couple of boxes can say a lot.

As long as something remains unbelievable, it remains exciting. If you are looking for real excitement, you are actually looking for something impossible or unbelievable. Make it a habit to find something impossible and unbelievable and your life will never be dull again. Something to achieve or something you already have but have taken for granted. People will ask you for the secret behind the sparkle in your eyes, your wry, confident smile and that impossible to imitate laugh.

And when they do, tell them, there's no way! That it is impossible to get. If you say it often enough, they'll figure it out.

Your education, status, wealth, power (influence) and intellect is a privilege, that comes with with, according to Nature's irrefutable laws, a massive responsibility. You have to make the most of it, so that others rise with you, most importantly, rise spiritually, to understand where true happiness and peace really comes from and then move beyond understanding to truly believing and living. If this is what you're not achieving, forget trying, trying doesn't cut it, then what Nature and Nurture has given you, won't be yours for long. Grace is not a scarce commodity, but the grace-worthy are.

This image, and the associated film evokes a lot of distinct, pleasant emotions. I have told some of you that I think this was the definitive film of my generation. Something you tell your great grandchildren when they ask you about romance. I can look at this image and smile all day. The same feeling you get when you enjoy something but don't understand why.

They say don't hold on to the past. But a film like DDLJ, you got to. Because you remain or are able to relive being young, innocent, fearless and of course very cheeky.

May the songs and spirit of DDLJ uplift you when you're down, give you comfort when you frown, give you the courage to, seek what lies beyond the ordinary and into the cool, inviting waters of romance, may you happily and willingly drown.

To the unaware, DDLJ is Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (The Romantics will Escape with the Bride)

A very Happy Belated Valentine's Day

Friends with mysteries as deep and unidentifiable as the Universe. You miss them the most because they force you to return to the basics. What you know is never as important as what you say. What you say, and what you do. Will you hold their hands and comfort them? The process of uncovering the truth is selfless love. This process is the meaning of life, and not knowledge of the unknown. Soon enough, the mystery becomes irrelevant, and there is laughter all around. Because you have touched me, smiled at me and have held my hand.
